Attention WCPS Families: Maryland SUN Bucks helps families with school-aged children who receive free or reduced-price meals buy groceries during the summer break when school meals are unavailable. Building on the former Summer SNAP program, Maryland SUN Bucks will help 543,000 children across the state who receive free and reduced-priced meals.

The National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) hosts a Promising Young Writers Program each year for 8th grade students. Students were nominated and required to submit a themed writing piece. The highest honor in this contest is First Class, followed by Superior, then Excellent, and last but not least, Merit. Three SDMS writers have been NATIONALLY recognized as promising writers. Congratulations, Catrina, Lucia, & Raegan!

Worcester County Public Schools will open one-hour late today, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, due to foggy conditions. Buses will operate accordingly. All school programs will begin following the one-hour delay.
